Canterbury International College

Quality Management System

"Canterbury International College - CANIC has shown good management in coping with not only the actual effects of the Christchurch earthquakes, but has continued to run an effective business in providing international students with required educational outcomes plus meeting its other stakeholders needs. CANIC’s stakeholders include not only the international students and their families, but also New Zealand teachers and other staff, homestay providers, Catholic Cathedral College (CCC) students and staff, and the communities at the overseas sister schools."

"CANIC’s educational focus is on providing international students with the opportunity to meet the New Zealand university entrance requirements. However, CANIC, by way of its contractual arrangements with Catholic Cathedral College - CCC, also gives its students the opportunity to engage in "the New Zealand way of life and learning" which prepares them socially and educationally for study in New Zealand and other Western tertiary educational institutions."

"The audit noted that CANIC has, since first established made significant changes to its organisational structure and methods of delivery, while not deviating from its original concept of providing international students with the necessary learning abilities to the opportunity to gain university entrance and to succeed in New Zealand tertiary educational institutions."

"CANIC’s self evaluation following the Canterbury earthquakes is evidence of its continuing commitment, both financial and organisational, to its delivery of sound educational outcomes to students internationally and locally."
